Position Overview:
MD&A is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team in Clifton Park, NY. This position will play a key role in supporting accounting operations, customer invoicing, collections, financial reporting, inventory activities, and month-end close processes while collaborating with finance and operations teams across multiple U.S. locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and manage customer invoicing activities, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Follow up on outstanding payments and support collections efforts.
- Serve as a liaison between customers and internal teams for invoicing, shipping, and order-related issues.
- Assist with monthly financial close processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.
- Assist with customer returns (RMA process) and related accounting activities.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory counts.
- Review and process employee expense reports through SAP Concur.
- Support internal and external audit requests.
- Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and help implement accounting efficiencies.
- Utilize ERP systems and technology tools to improve reporting accuracy and operational effectiveness.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, invoicing, or month-end close activities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
Preferred:
- Experience with Epicor/Kinetic, SAP, or similar ERP platforms.
- Power BI experience.
- Experience supporting inventory processes and cycle counts.
- Experience in multi-location business environments.
- Bilingual Spanish skills.
- Experience supporting audits and process improvement initiatives.
