CNC Machinist (2nd Shift)

Job Summary:
MD&A is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our team in Marion, Ohio. This position is ideal for a skilled machinist who can perform machine setups, read blueprints, work independently, and machine large industrial components with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate will have experience operating CNC lathes, mills, or Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs) in a manufacturing, machining, turbine repair, or heavy industrial environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate CNC and manual machine tools.
  • Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances to ensure accurate machining.
  • Perform machining operations on large industrial components.
  • Operate vertical and horizontal machining equipment.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges.
  • Perform machine adjustments, tooling changes, and offsets.
  • Complete production documentation and labor tracking.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Follow all company quality and safety procedures.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience performing complete machine setups.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments.
  • Knowledge of machining tolerances and shop math.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work 2nd shift and overtime as required.

  • Experience with:
    • Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs).
    • Vertical Turning Centers.
    • Horizontal Lathes.
    • Horizontal Mills.
    • Vertical Mills.
  • Experience with:
    • Mazak.
    • Toshiba.
    • Fanuc Controls.
    • Mazatrol Controls.
  • Background in:
    • Heavy Manufacturing.
    • Power Generation.
    • Turbine Repair.
    • Industrial Repair Shops.
    • Large Component Machining.
